I wanted to find a LCD that met my expectations. This new Sony with the 120HZ is fantastic.

Great TV overall. No problems at all.

I ordered this TV from Amazon and canceled my previous order from another vendor, the next day I received an email the next telling me that Amazon has canceled my order. Now my other order is gone because the sale was over. This is not the first time Amazon did that to me. Buyer, beware!

I bought this TV about a week ago. I have a seven year old RCA tube TV that has as good of a picture as this one. It's all right, I guess, but with all the ravings about this TV, I thought I was really getting something. Maybe it's because I don't have high def...? For over the air analog broadcasts the picture is actually worse. Yes, I know we'll not have those in a few more months. The digital picture seems "jerky" to me and the remote must have been designed by someone that never uses a remote. The volume and channel buttons are at the very bottom of the remote instead of being in the middle. It's not comfortable to use since the remote is not balanced in your hand. Also it ONLY controls the TV. You'd have thought with a $3000 TV, they'd supply a universal remote... sorry. If you have satellite, you will have to use your satellite remote to turn on the satellite box and change channels and your TV remote to use the TV. It's like going back in time. If you have high def. cable, you'll have to use your high def. cable remote to control your cable box and the TV remote for the TV. I did get the satellite remote programmed to work some parts of the TV, such as volume, channels and input, but that's all it will do and you must still keep the TV remote to do anything else. I thought maybe I was not seeing how to program the remote for other devices so I checked with Sony and they said that I was correct that the remote only works the TV. I'd give it another star if the remote was decent. Too bad Sony, you dropped the ball on this one.

What a total farce, Blu ray beats HD.... HDMI Cables?? Compatibility???

$4500 dollars for NOTHING!! OK so I bought into the hype that Blu ray won the HD Race. I buy into the interoperability of SONY and THE hollywood ONLY serving HDMI Cable... I buy a new $3500 TV (Sony 1080P/24-52") and a new Sony Blue Ray Player and a new BLUE RAY FILMED MOVIE for three TIMES the price of a standard DVD and put them together only to discover that I have black lines (letterbox) on my TV, The picture is a little worse than a standard DVD, the menu system works like a $27 VCR. The "Interoperability" between the Sony TV and the SONY BD works about like free air digital TV. And the Audio is like listening to a 3 transistor radio...

What a total JOKE!! ANYONE CONSIDERING UPGRADING TO ALL THE "NEWEST" because of ALL THE HYPE, Leave your money in your pocket. Go buy a cheeseburger and put the remainder in a 401k. When what you have breaks, get new average price stuff. When you pay all the big bucks for all the best you get NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING!
Maybe someone else's BD/TV actually works (oh wait a minute, ALL BD is Based on SONY technology....)

Sony (who made my PSP, PS3, Nav System, TVx5, BD Player and PDA has seen the last of my credit card.

MY NEW $500 BD Player hooked up to my new $3500 52" LCD TV, wants to operate in PAN-N-Scan mode in order to utilize the other 30% of the $100 per square inch real estate I bought from sony.

I though Pan-N-Scan died with Beta Max....

In closing, you would get the exact same experience (Maybe better with a $27 480i DVD Player, a $99 "Home theater system" and a No Name Rear Projection 50" DONT BUY DONT BUY DONT BUY
